Confession: considering that we live only about ten minutes from the beach, it’s rather pitiful when you count how many times we have actually GONE to the beach. We drive by it just about every weekend and gaze at the sand and the sun and the people laying out and talk about how we ‘need to finally go to the beach’ but then life gets in the way and somehow the weekend comes to a close and the beach is still just a distant memory that we gazed at through the car windows. In an effort to change that, we have been going to the beach every weekend, and OMG it is heaven. Little C is obsessed with the beach, and it’s actually one of the easiest places to go with her right now because it’s close (the longer the drive the more angry she is), cheap (aside from the $20 parking cost, yikes), and not crazy crowded (unless you hit the uber popular beaches). With Big C’s family and friends in town we took them to the beach right below the Santa Monica pier (yes, one of those uber crowded beaches) and it wasn’t bad! The kids had a great time burying various adults in the group and Little C got to try body surfing on her cousin Riley’s Spiderman boogie board. Little C also enjoyed stealing snacks that Danielle and Justin brought, she was a huge fan of their Pringles and ended up commandeering the entire container. All in all, it was an awesome time, and I had a chance to get some really cute pics of the little ones playing. Can’t wait to go back to the beach this coming weekend!
