Ahhhh Valentine’s Day! It’s coming quickly and, like always, I’m scrambling to figure out what I’m going to wear because the mom side of me screams “SWEATS! Go with the sweats and the nikes and a tee, it will be awesome!” and the non-mom-still-wants-to-be-dare-I-say-it-sexy side is all like “Don’t listen to her, sweats are for the other 364 days of the year, wear something hottt!”. And so you have a peek into the battle in my head. Who knows which side will win, it’s really a coin toss with V-day still a week away, but if my non-mom side prevails, I’ll be rocking this awesome lacy Michael Stars romper. I have a thing for lace (obviously, remember this New Year’s look?) and so when I saw this gorgeous playsuit my first thought was “Ooo I would wear that a ton!”. My second thought was “You work 5 days a week and spend the other two chasing a three year-old, no way are you going to wear that EVER”, but I couldn’t help myself dreaming up the various situations that might call for black lace rompers. I mean really tho, Christmas parties next year…right? I’m just planning ahead. ANYWAYS. I love this romper oh so much. The fit makes it still feel lady-like and a bit covered-up on top while showing just the right amount of leggy legginess. I know I know, you’re wondering what about this works for Valentine’s Day right? Well, my neutral wearing self refuses to do an all-pink outfit but I had to do a shoutout to cupid so I paired my romper with a pale pink coat in honor of Valentine’s Day (because let’s be honest it’s still cold even here in SoCal). Bonus? You can wear this look year-round, not just on V-day, which means getting the most bang for your buck and wearing something you LOVE instead of something that you feel just ehhh about. Side note-I’m in love with my MICHAEL Michael Kors booties…SO GOOD.
