Lace and Party Dresses with MinkPink

It’s officially holiday season on the blog – and we are working with MinkPink to bring you a whole week of fab looks that are perfect for this upcoming season! Starting off the looks is this GORGEOUS lace dress. It comes in black by the way, too, in case white isn’t quite your thing. But seriously guys, how INCREDIBLE is this dress?! The lace, the bell sleeves, the neckline details and exposed rose gold zipper…it’s amazing. I am a sucker for details – and this dress is full of them. PS – we shot this look right after it stopped raining – but unfortunately I got caught in the downpour so my hair went nuts. Apologies in advance for the messy hair situation, still getting used to Texas weather (right after we moved I accidentally left my sunroof open and all of a sudden clouds rolled in and there was a massive storm..didn’t realize it had happened until two days later and LOTS of rain in between. Whoopsies).

The dress runs pretty true to size, maybe a bit on the small side. I’m wearing an extra small but could totally size up to a small – when in doubt always size up! It’s easier to fix something that’s a bit big than try to force yourself into something that is too small (trust me I’ve tried). If you’re a bit on the bustier side also size up, I found that the see-through part of the lace came up pretty high and it could create an ‘underboob’ situation.

Now for the shoes: I love velvet. Each year fall rolls around and we all become obsessed with velvet, suede, chunky knit sweaters, and jewel tones. I for one don’t really do color so the rich jewel-toned goodies are not really up my alley, but the textures, hell yes. Texture is what makes an outfit interesting, it’s what creates dimension and intrigue, especially when you are into monochromes, like me. I use textures in place of colors to create looks that can be similar in color and yet completely interesting and dynamic. These Public Desire booties are EVERYTHING. The rounded heel, the rich gray velvet, the button snaps. They are also super comfy, AND they’re under $60. So good for this season – you can pair them with a dress, leggings, denim – even those rad flared jeans that are currently all the rage. Definitely on my list of must-haves.

So, what do you guys think – are you into bell sleeves and high necklines? Where are you off to for Thanksgiving, traveling or staying home? Fill me in 😉
